Artist Statement

I am a visual artist and a poet/writer (bad poetry only). The art that I create is a reflection of current events in my life, or experiences I have had along the way. It is both personal and of my view of the world. It usually has an organic quality, or is geometric in design. I also am inspired by symbolism, history, science, popular culture, and world cultures. I am constantly searching for things to glue on a canvas to construct something interesting. I create Mixed media pieces using all sorts of materials, such as cds, washers, paperclips (Italian), tile, wire, and sheet metal. Lately I have been collecting all sorts of things from friends…different metals from construction sites; discarded, damaged circuit boards; old RAM and different cards from computers; wooden shapes; etc. I also like to work with inks and watercolors on vellum to create detailed drawings of whatever is on my mind at the time. I enjoy writing as well, especially horror stories and bad poetry for fun.

Links News for April/May 2008:

Hello. Not a lot of news right now. Still working on the same projects...updating my artist statement, writing a bio, documenting my techniques (yes, people do ask), and designing a new website. Unfortunately I am short on time.

I just wrapped up the Brains!!!! contest on deviantArt. Click here to read the journal announcing the winners.

I started an abstract art club called 4bstr4ct4rt on deviantArt. You can find that here.

Hopefully you will see a lot of changes here soon. It'll take me awhile to build my site the way I would like to have it. I'm building it as 100% Flash. I will more than likely keep this html version for iPhones, and people slower internet connections.
